Dialexica Tweetinars

What is a Dialexica Tweetinar?

A “Dialexica Tweetinar” is what we call the live tweeting of an on-line event. The analogy is to the running commentary during a football game,–only (hopefully) a lot more interesting.

Tweeting is done by Regina Mullen (owner of the parent to Dialexica, Legal Data Services, LLC) and/or assistants empowered to tweet under our name. If the post doesn’t come (after the Facciola-Redgrave series) from Dialexica2, it’s not from us.

Each Dialexica Tweetinar is copywritten, both with respect to individual Tweets and as a whole. Feel free to use the tweets without alteration (they’re less than 140 characters, so no need to alter them).

Fact or Fiction?

Yes.

Dialexica provides thought leadership, services and products primarily to those in the legal profession. The intended audience for Tweetinars is composed solely of adults with legal training and those providing goods and services to lawyers.

It might be entertaining for journalists and other media as well, since web events are usually down to important issues in the legal community.

But, it’s NOT legal advice. Pure and simple. Every effort is made to be civil, –within the bounds of good fun, humor, sarcasm, snarkery, pseudo-intellectual, yet intelligent conversation.

In other words, if someone says something stupid, the filter might be closer to

“{quote}” > really?…REALLY?

than

“{quote}” > ARE YOU STUPID?!!!

After all, we don’t want to instill fear, –but honesty and transparency are important. Every now and then, citations and retweets will be offered into the stream. The choice to do so is entirely that of the Tweeter and is not an endorsement of the CONTENT of the 3rd person tweet. It is nothing more than an acknowledgement that “you might find this interesting, too!”
The opinions expressed therein are solely those of the author as a commentary on the event. A link to the original event is provided so that listeners may draw their own conclusions about what was said,–or unsaid by the event provider.

Under no interpretation should anything contained in a webinar be mistaken for legal advice.

Under no interpretation shall the Tweetinar,–or parts thereof, be taken for anything other than journalistic commentary and editorial.

You may prefer to cite to this page rather than the transcripts of individual Tweetinars.

How to Find Them

There are a lot of ways to find our Tweet stream,–the easiest way to find Dialexica Tweetinars is to follow @Dialexica2.

Yes, the idea is just like BBC1, BBC2, etc.

Since Twitter doesn’t keep streams forever, a script is being written to pull them all for safekeeping and transcripts will be posted below.

How Very Interactive of Us?

Absolutely!

Dialexica Tweetinars started from the fact that I, Regina Mullen, watch a LOT of webinars and normally take a LOT of notes about them.

I figured that I might as well share them.

Of COURSE, if you’e on the Dialexica Tweetinar, you can ineract with me around whatever is written. You can ask me to submit a question, and if it makes sense to me, I’ll try to get an answer for you!

How very cool is that?!

Editing and Retractions

Retractions ARE possible, but we’re going to try NOT to edit anything. It is what it is. Typos are real, that’s part of being human.

In the event that something bad slips through, then there will be a retraction or qualification as appropriate. Every tweet, should, however be understood to carry an implicit pre-statement of “In my opinion…”

In the event that someone mucks up the stream with truly objectionable material, we will delete it and note that in the transcript.

How To Get Dialexica to Tweet Your Web Event

Dialexica will do a tweetinar for your live or recorded web event, if

IT RELATES TO OUR BUSINESS and WE HAVE THE TIME!

In other words, odds are good if your webinar has anything to do with the following:

eDiscovery EDRM Special Masters
Legal Hold Spoliation FRCP
Agile Scrum Legal Economics
Project Management LegaL Technology Document Review

It helps if you’ve been following us, but that’s not a requirement. Of course, it’d be kinda silly to ask us to do a Dialexica Tweetinar and not have any idea what’s likely to come out of it.

No promises. This is not pay-per-view: you may not like what we say. That’s why you can’t pay us to say it.

An attempt will be made to be objective,–in a subjective, opinionated kinda of way.

If time permits, we’ll post a calendar and you can add your event manually.

Until then, either

  1. send all the information needed to access the web event to tweetinar [AT] dialexica [DOT] com.
  2. tweet a request to @Dialexica1 or @Dialexica2.

Can You Do A Private Dialexica Tweetinar?

Mayyybe. Are you wearing a wire?

Seriously, though: sure!

Happy to do so, but it’s kinda pricey, and payment is absolutely required in advance. I’ll just set up a private channel, with only your folks in it.

On the other hand, Legal Data Services, LLC will be doing something interesting around this in the near future, so stay tuned!

The Tweetinar list is being moved to the main site.
